Recently, Computer Training has really drawn the attention of millions of people. This is because virtually all of our activities now require the knowledge of the computer. We can see this in the area of home based business. People all over the world who operate a home business require Computer Training.

Today’s Lesson in Computer Training

5. CD-ROM & DVD Drives:

All computers are equipped with either a CD-ROM Drive (with entry level – mid range computers) and/or a DVD Drive (with newer, higher specified computers). A CD-ROM drive reads CD-ROM discs. They look the exactly the same as home audio CDs but store computer programs and data. The capacity of one disk is approximately 650MB.

The drives are actually measured in terms of their speed of rotation (e.g. 32x = 32 times the speed of normal audio CD rotation). Again, faster is better. The faster the rotation, the faster the data can be accessed, and the quicker it can be delivered to you.

DVD-ROM is the biggest thing to hit the computer in several years and is the successor to CD-ROM discs. A DVD-ROM disk can hold around 7 times more data than a standard CD In other words it will hold 4.5GB. This means that there is more video and animation on the educational and entertainment products. Also, you can play normal CDs and CD-ROMs in a DVD-ROM drive but not the opposite.

DVD-ROM has been launched as a new high quality medium for watching feature films at home In parallel to its use in computers. Consumer DVD players can plug in to your television to give very high quality movie playback. However, computers with DVD-ROM drives also need MPEG-2 capability in order to play DVD movies.

Having Computer Training has made many people a living and is still making a living for many others across the globe today.

Recently, Computer Training is becoming more and more important. This is because so many of our activities now require the knowledge of the computer. We especially see this in the area of home based business. People all over the world who operate a home business require Computer Training.

Today’s Lesson in Computer Training

Modem:

Most home computers, but not all, now come with a built-in modem. Just plug it in to your phone socket and it will allow you to connect to the Internet or other computers with simply telephone line. Modem are available in a series of obscure types, with their speed measured in kbps. 56kbps based on dial-up connections will soon become obsolete, as more people switch to using broadband.

One of the benefits of buying a modem is that almost all of them come with software that lets you send and receive fax messages via phone line. In other words, turning your computer into a fax machine.

Having Computer Training has allowed people to earn a living with their own computers with their own home business. Some people are employed to work with government, multi-national firms, etc. Research on Google has shown that by the year 2025, about 85% of the world population will acquire a computer.

Recently, computer training, indeed attracted attention, millions of people. This is because almost all the activities we now need knowledge of computers. We can see this in the area of family enterprises. The peoples of the world who operate the family business in need of computer training.

8. Modems:

Most, but not all, personal computers, now with built-in modem. It attaches great importance to your phone socket and allows you to connect to the Internet or other computers using your ordinary home or office telephone line. Modem to type in a series of vague types, and measure the speed of Kbps. 56 Kbps or a standard dial-up connection, will soon be obsolete, as more and more people switch to broadband Internet access.

One benefit of buying a modem is that almost all of them supply the needed software, which will allow you to send and receive fax messages through the telephone lines. In other words, they put your computer into a fax machine.

Learning some basic computer training, has made a lot of people a lot of money, and will continue to do so around the world.

6. Floppy Disk Drive:

This is the reader of floppy disks (a form of computer storage, which is a thin 3½” ‘floppy’ magnetic disk stored in a rigid plastic jacket). Software often comes on floppy disks. When it does, we usually only insert the floppy into our disk drive once and load (or install) the software onto our own internal storage, the hard disk. Floppy disks are also used to make backup copies of important work that is stored on your hard disk. You can Google “Floppy Disk Drive” if you need to troubleshoot.

7. Sound Card:

These allow the computer to play music and sound effects for multimedia and games. Measured in bits, standard cards are 16-bit, with more advanced cards 32-bit and the latest 64-bit ones even providing Dolby Surround sound! Look for ‘wavetable’ capability, which provides more realistic sound by reproducing the sound waves of actual sources

Some people are employed to work with government, multi-national firms, etc. Some research on Google has shown that by the year 2025, about 85% of the world population will be able to acquire a household computer just like television in families over the world.

Computer Training starts with knowing the common things of the computer like:

a. The components(Central Processing Unit, Visual Display Unit, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, etc.)
b. Switching it on and off and the Operating System you have i.e.: Windows XP or perhaps you have a MAC
c. Working with the basic operating computer packages like: Microsoft word, excel, outlook, etc) and how to do a simple Google search
d. There are many other programs like power point, corel draw, etc.

2. Memory (RAM):

This is the ‘kitchen table’ where the computer does all its work. A temporary storage area for the programs it uses, so more is better. Measured in MB or megabytes, 256MB is the minimum memory you should consider.

Many home computers now come with 512MB as standard. The more RAM you have, the faster things will tend to run on the modern computer, although for this Computer Training lesson that is a bit of a simplification. I recommend at least 2 GIGs of RAM.

The amount of RAM is important if you are going to be doing lots of graphic work, because big drawings or illustrations need a big ‘kitchen table’ to work on. When a program starts running, a part of it is loaded from the hard disk into memory.

As additional parts are used (or other programs are started) they are also loaded into memory. A computer with a smaller amount of memory might run a single particular program just fine.

However, when we are running more than one thing at a time, without enough RAM, the computer may run a lot slower than we want, unbearably so in some cases.

I hope you find these Computer Training tidbit worthwhile. Please come again and leave me a post.

Computer Training Basics
Do I understand the basics?

A computer system is not, in general, made up of just one item. It consists of a number of distinct parts, the computer hardware, the printer, add-ons and software.

Strictly speaking, a printer is also a piece of hardware, but for the purposes of this Computer Training guide we will treat them separately.

Hardware

The computer hardware is made up of the ‘hard’ pieces, which work together as a whole. This includes the actual computer system unit, the keyboard and mouse that are used to interact with the computer, the screen and the speakers, which play the sound. Nowadays some computers have the screen and system unit all in one, while others have speakers built into the monitor but the principal components remain the same.

System Unit

This is the main computer box in which the computer’s important bits reside. This is either a ‘desktop’ unit which is a horizontal box usually placed under the screen, or a ‘tower’ system which is vertically oriented and either sits next to the screen on the desk or placed on the floor.

There are eight important items inside a computer’s system unit:

1. Processor (CPU):

This is the brain of the computer. Its speed is measured in terms of GHz or gig-hertz. The higher the speed, the faster the computer can complete its work. E.g. 2.4GHz is the equivalent of telling us the size of the car engine. A bigger number is faster.

We need to know whether our car is capable of cruising smoothly on the autobahn at 120mph or is better suited to a little trip to the local shops. Pentium® is the name of the most popular make of processor from Intel. A 2.0GHz processor is today considered to be entry level, 3.5GHz plus is considered to top end. Also, you may want to consider using a HyperThread processor. (HT)

Beginner’s Guide To Buying A Computer
Introduction

The purpose of these pages is to give you enough Computer Training to make a sensible decision as to which computer to buy, without having to know the technology inside out.

Don’t be intimidated by the technology and you may find that it opens up new areas of creativity that you never thought possible in music, art and writing.

There are four questions to answer before buying a computer:

1: Do I understand enough about the basics of a computer to make a sensible decision?
2: What do I want to do with it?
3: How much money do I have to spend?
4: When is the right time to buy?

Do I understand Basic Computer Training?

There are some basic things that it is important to know in order to make an educated choice. Luckily there are not many and most relate to speed or size.

In general a faster speed means that your computer will be able to do tasks quicker; a larger size means that your computer will be able to perform more tasks or store more information.

Examples are speed of processor, speed of CD-ROM, speed of graphics, size of RAM, size of hard disk storage etc.

What do I want to do with it?

It is important to think about what you want to use the computer for. This is because different tasks need different specifications, and the better we define what the job we want to do, the more likely we are to choose the right Computer Training and model for our needs.

Be careful though. Many is the time that a computer bought for one task has ended up doing another, completely different one, as well. When in doubt, err on the side of extravagance.

You may just want to do a bit of word-processing with it, but will your son or daughter want to use the latest multimedia encyclopedia on it some time soon?

What is my budget?

This factor, of course, will control whatever decision you have to make. What I mean here is that your budget should be realistically balanced with your expectations of what the computer will do. Later on we’ll see how to juggle the choice of components around to get the best value for money within a given budget.

Also remember that your budget should include things that are not included in the computer’s basic price. Many people forget that a computer they bought to be used as a word-processor is all but useless without a printer, which in most cases is priced separately.

With computer technology and Computer Training changing so rapidly, it may be tempting to wait a little longer for the next ‘big’ development. The truth is that computers will never stop developing, so it doesn’t make sense to procrastinate. Later on we’ll see why.

Finally…

Keep in mind the criteria you normally use when making any major purchase. Once you’ve found something that fits your needs and budget, check that you feel comfortable with the build quality, with the manufacturer and with all the other ‘touchy feely’ aspects of the system.

Be sure to get your Computer Training! You may be spending quite a lot of time with your computer in the future
